The Lessons of Reiki
(Why I am a Pantheist)

In the course of my reiki studies, I was trained in healing-at-a-distance.  In common usage, this is known as "sending reiki."  My understanding of this process has evolved  In my current understanding, reiki sending is not a good description.  Nothing is actually sent from point A to point B.  Space is not crossed.  What does happen is that the illusion of intervening space is over-come.  Physical space is real.  Physical space is also illusory.  This is how healing-at-a-distance is possible.

Consider the example of a wave in the ocean.  The wave might seem to be a separate entity.  In fact, this is false.  The wave is part of the ocean.  The wave and the ocean are one entity.  Other waves are also part of the ocean.  It follows that the space between the waves is illusory.  The waves are not seperate from each other.  They are all connected by the ocean.

This is all reductionist imagry to make a point.  While space is real, space is also not real.  Further, if "space" is illusory; then "time" is also illusory.

Follow me down the rabbit hole.  We are almost there.

What are the properties of space?  Without space, there is no separation.  Division of any kind is impossible.

What are the properties of time?  Without time, no change of any kind is possible.

What is it that can exist outside of space/time?  A state of absolute Unity or One-ness.  What Maimonides described as "a Unity, and that there is no unity in any manner like unto his."  It is the classic description of God.  Only God can exist outside of space/time.

In my opinion, distance reiki works because of Unity -- The One -- God.  I am persuaded that manipulation of "energy" has very little to do with real reiki-at-a-distance.  The real process is over-coming the illusion of distance and separation..

Translated by the Jewish Publication Society of America

Deuteronomy 6:4

"HEAR O ISRAEL:  THE LORD OUR GOD, THE LORD IS ONE."

In my opinion, this is no simple statement of monotheism.  It is a definition of God.

Morning Services -- Orthodox Jewish Prayer Book

1.  I believe with perfect faith that the Creator,  blessed be his name, is the author and guide of everything that has been created, and that he alone has made, does make, and will make all things.

2. I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be his name, is a Unity, and that there is no unity in any manner like unto his, and that he alone is our God, who was, is, and will be.

3.  I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be his name, is not a body, and that he is free from all the accidents of matter, and that he has not any form whatsoever.

4.  I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be his name, is the first and the last.

5.  I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be his name, and to him alone, it is right to pray, and that it is not right to pray to any being besides him.

6.  I believe with perfect faith that the that all the words of the prophets are true.

7.  I believe with perfect faith that the prophecy of Mosses our teacher, peace be unto him, was true, and that he was the chief of the prophets, both of those that preceded and of those that followed him.

8.  I believe with perfect faith that the whole law, now in our possesion, is the same that was given to Mosses our teacher, peace be unto him.

9.  I believe with perfect faith that this law will not be changed, and that there will never be any other law from the Creator, blessed be his name.

10. I believe with perfect faith that the Creator, blessed be his name, knows every deed of the children of men, and all their thoughts, as it is said, It is he that fashioneth the hearts of them all, that giveth heed to all their deeds.

11.  I beliveve with perfect faith the the Creator, blessed be his name, rewards those  that keeps his commandments, and punishes those that transgress them.

12.  I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the messiah, and, though he tarry, I will wait daily for his coming.

13.  I believe with perfect faith that there will be a resurrection of the dead at the time when it shall please the Creator, blessed be his name, and exalted be the remembrance of him for ever and ever.

Pantheism

Unity  =  One  =  Singularity

Consistent with the Big Bang Theory; the Universe, Time and Space all begin as a single point, which is called "Singularity."  It is not simply that God creates the Universe.  God is the Universe.

Unity and the Individual

KJV  Psalm 82: 6  I said,  "you are gods, and all of you are children of the most high."

Daoist symbolism.

In my opinion, Daoist symbols say very similar things to what is found in the Bible.  The difference, of course, is that Daoism does not personify Unity.

Tao Te Ching
translated by Charles Muller

#1

The Tao that can be followed is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The nameless is the origin of heaven and earth

#40

All things in the cosmos arise from being.
Being arises from non-being.

#42

The Tao produces one, one produces two.
The two produce the three and the three produce all things.

Meditation

Like reiki; meditation is very helpful for experiencing "Unity."
